J. Marie's history starts with her ancestry. With roots in Mexico, this background served as the impetus for a contemporary line honoring the traditional fashions of Central America. 

 

I've worked as a buyer for a women's clothes store for about 20 years, but I've always wanted to start my own clothing brand. My attention has always been drawn to embroidery since I grew up in a family where the women wore vibrant, embroidered clothing that was a reflection of their past. I was initially motivated to develop this collection by the stunning local flora and fauna as well as a reverence for my family's history.
